A year ago this week, Outpost Gallifrey http://www.gallifreyone.com
broke the news that Doctor Who would finally return as a firstrun TV
series in 2005. It's been a surprisingly quick year. Outpost
Gallifrey and the BBC's Doctor Who site
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho have chronicled the saga as we
have anxiously awaited the new chapter in Doctor Who's run. Now
filming is well underway. This time next year the first set of 13
episodes should have aired in the UK and some other countries. The
wait is not over yet, but we are getting closer.
Upcoming airings of Doctor Who (the 1996 TV Movie) on the

To anyone confused by what you saw last Saturday on Maryland Public TV http://www.mpt.org or KUED Salt Lake City, UT http://www.kued.org - both stations skipped back to an earlier point in the Doctor Who series, presumably because they had no stories beyond the points where they were. Maryland Public TV is now airing the Patrick Troughton stories while KUED has gone to the middle of the Tom Baker era. To date, I have found no evidence of any of the other 6 US Doctor Who affiliates planning to jump out of rotation before the end of October.
